Discussing the volatility in case of Market Making is BS - at least as long as I do not know, who or what the Mr or Mrs Market is. IOW are the Boys N girls out there in those silos in F/M or NY pulling me over the table or is it something else. My conviction - but nothing to support it: The systems trading in these securities are too big and refined to care about the little fish like me. I'm just the one that gets the chance to make money on the risk taken on - in essence the same game as the Lloyd "Names" played for a long time -. I'm the risk retailer - on the receiving side of the stick as already said. I do not think there's much to the zero-sum game idea - that for every call I buy there's another DJ writing me one -.

BTW there's more than 20000 active OS running at the moment in Germany. Forget Chicago - been there, seen that -.

Bull's eye, Juergen. Same opinion.

What I have done lately, lets say since End of 2000, is I gave up the idea that long calls make much sense. The real thing would be to realize in April 2000 that long puts are way to go. Will know better next time (g). So, right now my religion is "violets by a mossy stone" kind of securities (single-digit PEs nonUS g). IOW when underwater, forget the RPGs, use torpedoes. Oh BTW, even bought (again) some Bertelsmann debentures.
