Just returned from a month vacation, plugged in the laptop (which didn't go with us) and the laptop works, but the battery doesn't charge.

It's a Toshiba Satellite L455.

I've rebooted the machine, and the battery still doesn't charge. I've removed the battery, waited 15 minutes, reinstalled it, and the battery still doesn't charge.

Before I buy a new one, does anyone have other suggestions for what to try to get the battery to work?

Is it normal for a battery to just stop working after not being used for a month?
