Those sales don't look so brilliant now, but I've since sold a $175 for $21 and am offering a $185 for $25 in December. My general rule of thumb is that a total value of less than $2000 is not worth my time and effort to keep track of an option. Also generally want to evaluate the long term (over 6 months) probability of reverting to the mean with no attempt to evaluate the current enthusiasm or depression over price. My initial call sale provided about a 12% return on my most expensive purchased shares. Clearly all additional call sales would result in much higher CAGR returns, the last up to 55% or so if applied to my 5/4/23 purchase at $104.

Today I'm finding the discussion of Q's QTL potential by Qurious quite interesting and valuable. The bias displayed by many posters in support of their own desires seems quite pervasive and dangerous to me. I simply look at the EPS results as reported by QCOM over the period of my ownership and am amazed by how they have somewhat consistently provided an excellent return despite all the hand wringing (or enthusiasm) we who are risking our assets engage in.
