Thanks for the reply, Bob. No, I haven't checked with an Options Broker. I do my LTBH with Merrill Lynch, and on the rare occasion that I do an options trade I really have to spoon feed the info to them. I do have full options trading capabilities there. Spreads, straddles, naked puts and calls. I got the naked call capability because I once was thinking of implementing writing short straddles. (And cover the side of the straddle that went into the money.) Paper traded it a little, but found that I'd really get whipsawed, so I decided against it for now.

I have full options capability at ETrade except naked calls. I believe they just don't allow it. I don't want it, except for the situation I described earlier. I guess I could call 'em up and talk to a broker on the phone. I have done that in the past. (They actually do have brokers!)

I guess I've never traded options actively enough to want to open an account at an options brokerage.

I guess I'm also reluctant because my impression of an options brokerage is similiar to a high pressure used car dealer! (Please don't take this personally!) But I'm afraid the broker would try to push trades on me, and push me into plays I'm not comfortable with. (Butterfly spreads and all that stuff...)

I really want to Keep It Simple.
