DI, PI, DC ...

1) I make an image of Windows' partition and an image of my 'other stuff' partition. I store these images on a third, 'backup', partition.

2) I use a Zip drive, but if I could start over, I'd get a CD burner, since a CD'll hold six Zips (100s) and I could read them with my DVD. This sounds nuts, but I use a laptop and must switch Zip and DVD hardware. If I had a desktop with bays for both and could use both simultaneously, I'd view things differently. I'd recommend a 250 Zip over a 100 Zip.

3) Some re-writable CD's must be read by the drive that wrote them. Again, using a laptop, I'd want to use my DVD/Floppy away from home and would want to carry a write-once CD of my 'stable' image. At home, I'd use an external Re-writable CD-ROM and re-writable CDs.

Cheers, PW.
