Dear Westi: Ok, I am here. As to your recent post, I wished to highlight the following:

Dick Clarke seems more concerned about what meetings he was in or what meetings he was excluded from," White House spokesman Dan Barlett told Fox News on Tuesday

I think there is a lot of truth to that statement. Clarke was a typical Beuracrat, they LOVE meetings. When I was in business everyone wanted to have a meeting. Soon I found we were accomplishing nothing but meetings, so I elimated all of them and then came back with one meeting a week. Monday morning BEFORE working hours started. I provided coffee and donuts. When people realized that any meetings we were going to have were going to be OFF THE CLOCK, the great love of meetings ended. Then we got some work done. Everything I read or hear of Clarke is his main complaint is NOT ENOUGH MEETINGS. Or, he wasnt invited to certain meetings. That does not impress me in the least. IMHO there is nothing most meetings accomplish that an interoffice memo doesnt do better. Yes, SOME meetings are necessary to get input but weekly is MORE then enough IMHO. jdn
