badon518, those are solid points and certainly observations to ponder.

And I really don't know how to answer your questions. But certainly, every investor has his/her own preference for risk and that's one of the things that makes for lively two sided markets.

The diversity of points of view on this thread is also what makes it interesting to read and there isn't a day that goes by where I wonder, "Why didn't I think of that?"

The matter of success is a relative term. And a personal one. More often than not, it is not measured by size of your positions or your account net liquidating equity, but if just for a day, we left the world a better place for having walked upon it. Random act of kindness as it were.

Others may feel differently and they're probably right too.
