Hi Dan,

IMHO, I think HUI is quite misleading. The reason is very simple:

..as you can see that the gold stocks in the HUI index are not weighed according to the market caps. The small golds have very high weight. Therefore, I think HUI is just an index for measuring the volatility instead of the values of the gold stock sector. <G> Because HUI measures volatility, is is quite all right to use it to detect the possible early turn around.
