Konrad, thanks that makes sense. This highlights a very important point about the future growth prospects and hence the stock of Intel. If one assumes a 40% PC penetration worldwide in developed countries and about a 10% penetration in underdeveloped countries.
(including China), lets say in 8 years.
That's a whole lot of chips Even if Intel slips to 80% market share.
Since I was never that great at math, I'll let some of the smart number cruncher's figure that one out!
Now if you stretch your imagination a bit and say a 70% U.S. PC penetration. The profits blow your mind! I don't think it's incocieavable for Intel to generate 10-12 billion a year in profits!

I believe Mr Grove has looked at the numbers and realizes Asia is basically in the bag. They will buy computers in droves. Europe may need a little kicking though.
