I just posted this on the Intel thread, but it really belongs on this thread, given the initial post which started this INTC thread.

Mary and All,
Today we heard Jerry yell "UNCLE" as he through in the towel. The question now is whether Kurlak will have the guts to reverse his earnings estimate now that it appears that the price war is about to end.

By the end of the day, I had bought Intel Calls based on my belief that this was yet one more example of the market over reacting to Tom's erroneous analysis. Tom should have taken into account that Intel surely would have built into its forecast a price adjustment when they put the world on notice that they would aggressively take back low end market share. This was clearly stated during the most recent conference call, when at the same time Intel averred that margins would increase this year. With lower manufacturing costs than AMD's and without AMD having significant product differentiation, Intel has to eventually be the winner.

What amazes me is that Kulak still has this kind of influence on the Market, as demonstrated by Intel's 8 + point drop. However, after years of watching Tom's shenanigans I have hopefully learned how to profit from them.
Jules
