Earthquakes are okay, it's caldera volcanoes that are nasty. Earthquakes in modern cities do some property damage by not many people get killed. A volcano at Taupo or Rotorua could kill pretty well 100,000. Nevertheless, they must be really sick of it in Christchurch. 6 months of rumbling and now another big smash. I guess plenty of people will give up and move out. Mqurice
