Linkster,

asking questions like the ones above might give an appearance of a vacillating investor. if that is how it appears, then so be it. the reason why i ask questions like these (and if you have read me in other threads), is because,

i am not a trader. i am a long term investor; therefore, with this new tool called the SI investor and all the other on-line resources, i want to invest in a stock which i have thoroughly investigated. i don't want to lose sleep if there is another correction.

let's talk about the questions that i have asked. do you know who are the players in the ERP in general and the ones in supply chain management. i am planning to invest in SAP soon, but i need to find out what is their postition with respect to supply chain management? the SCOPE module in their new R/3 - is that distinct and superior enough to win new customers away for MANU and ITWO. Supply chain management itself may be the hottest segment in ERP; and if that is the case, maybe MANU or ITWO may be better investments (FOR ME, that is) than SAP, since these two are much more in a growth phase than SAP, which seems to fit my criteria. don't get me wrong, SAP is the 4th largest vendor, and the 5 billion ERP market is going to grow to almost 20 billion by 2001. but may be i can wait to invest in SAP until it comes back to the high 60's, if ever.

i don't short stocks. but the stocks i invest in somehow turns out to be heavily shorted, because these are the ones that are about to break out. yes i have had some failures following this criteria, but the positives have outweighed the negatives by far. btw, one of my favorite long stock is agouron pharmaceuticals, which has been a short's dream stock.

cynicism may not pay off in real life ( which i believe, that is why i have interests and hobbies that will take more than a page to fill), but believe me my friend, it has paid well for me in the street, for whatever little money i have invested in.

by the way, i don't only ask questions. i do give answers to the best of my knowledge.

i will entertain any questions/criticism you have.

best regards,

SXB
