I see banners too and am NOT an AOL member.

I've been with SI since 8/96 and don't pay fees... maybe that's why I get the banners.

At any rate, if AOL bought SI and made it an AOL-exclusive area I would leave right away. I bet the Yahoo message boards would pick up quite a few of us.
