Interesting comment about web advertising. I have asked many people what they think of the advertising on the internet and most say they don't even notice it. Most times they can't even conjure up one web advertisement. Try the same thing with television or ever radio advertising and you find much greater recall. I think this is very strong testimony against AOL's media model. Granted, the internet will probably be huge for commerce but it is not AOL or YHOO who will ultimately be the cause of this through their advertising.

Personally, I have never used a banner ad to purchase anything or visit a site. I do use plenty of search engines to find sites of interest. Then again, I hang up on telephone solicitors.

The one thing about this is that the success (or failure) of this type of advertising seems very easy to track.
