Could it be a memory leak associated with MSIE and a site you're visiting?

I use to have this problem with MSIE when getting quotes at Datek. Everytime I'd get a quote, my system resources would drop until eventually it would freeze up my computer. Once I figured out what, and what site, was causing my problems, I found I could regain my resources by hitting the back button after each quote.

Do you have your resource meter running? You can try that if not and see if losing resources is your problem (sounds like it could be as you regain all your resources on a reboot).
