Hi Roy, Some additional info regarding the "Trac Net's" wireless standard incorporated in the system - 802.11: 802.11 is a military/business wireless alternative. It is 50 times faster than blue tooth technology. Distance capabilities are generally estimated to be 1000 feet plus(KVHI says 300 ft). It is a wide transmission and therefore offers little security,however as long as it features KVHI quotes going up in price - This is a good thing.ggggg Info taken from today's IBD regarding an article on "wireless goes network". There is a future alternative in the works,but requires governmental permission and is 3 years out there at least. It looks like KVH is on the leading edge for quite some time - in these days a three year lead is like a generation or two. Have a nice day. Bob
