Yes, there was a time in the recent past when we had an appointed president and vp. One of the first acts of the appointed pres. was to pardon the guy who appointed him. Don't recall which party they belonged to... Guess this fits in with the current "IOM DIRTY TRICKS" theme being developed currently by some of the more sane, sober, and knowledgeable posters. As far as the other discussion which broke out on this board the other night goes - I believe the most current "last word" on the topic was given by Robert McNamara this last year.
