i wish you no harm and harbor no grudge.
Well, Mike, as I said, I enjoy these conversations, such as they are, with you. But that last sentence, the one I've highlighted at the beginning of this post, sort of disturbs me. How could anyone consider the light bantering we've done on this thread would even call for such a comment. Of course, you don't wish me any harm or harbor any grudge. We're just two guys hammering away at our keyboards, jawing with one another about the state of the world. Harm and grudges are not even in the room, let alone deniable.
". . . i am a well-informed source."
Well, actually, not on this one, Mike. I have no doubt that Hersh's sources are better than yours. And, what's more, Hersh has no interest at stake in all this, save the need, for his own reputation, to get the story right. You appear to have a great deal at stake, your sense that the military can do no wrong (yes, I know that's a bit of an exaggeration, but it's the position you tend to defend here.)
Well, it's been fun, Mike, but you seem to be tiring of this. Don't know whether Ken is.
My best,
John |
