Allow me to explain my reason for even posting on this thread. To do so properly I must reveal a few things but I think it will help people better understand me as a person and whatever amount of limited logic I may be using. I have stated that several of the issues people have raised have also gone through my mind. Just like most of you, I attempt to discern the facts and come up with a reasonable, logical explanation. However, I have come to the conclusion (maybe more recently than ever) that when I make a quick judgement about a person or their character based on limited facts that even if I'm right, I'm WRONG! I say this for many reasons. First of all, many of our laws and beliefs as a culture come from a biblical perspective. Part of the foundation of this faith is not to judge others. Now that doesn't mean we can't have opinions or enforce laws. But as of now there is nothing to enforce from a legal standpoint - at least nothing of substance. Which brings me to the next issue. Until we have some solid proof of his guilt the only people he must answer to are his family and his God. All too often I have watched the Republican party (a party I've voted for in every presidential election and support on MANY issues) stand in judgement of people. They have taken the Bible, a book of love, and shoved it up people's asses as if THEY had a corner on the market in terms of HONOR, ETHICS and MORALITY! My experience in life has been that the very people who wear their religion on their sleeve are the very people to look out for. They are the people who use this book of love as an almighty battering - ram – AND THAT IS WRONG. To suspect based on personal experience is one thing. To cast aspersions in public based on little evidence or political affiliation is just as bad in Gods eyes as what you believe Mr. Condit's actions (adultery) to be. There are degrees in law but not in sin. It is my opinion that we as a nation, people and culture must move beyond this period in our history where we so quickly and easily judge others. For it is the pompous the arrogant and the hypocrites who hold themselves in such high regard that they feel they have the RIGHT to judge. To judge is easy. To be rational and fair (and walk in the other person's shoes) is at times much more challenging. Now, Mr. Condit may be guilty of everything that people on this thread think he is. If so, he should be prosecuted. But until then I think we had all better take a deep breath and let the facts come out before we hang ANOTHER person in the press.

Bottom line is we're all human and we all make mistakes. We lie, we cheat, we steal, WE SIN!
