I just wonder what kind of a sick mind would try to profit in stocks by shorting them. I know it can be profitable, but it thrives on people losing money.

Buddy, no offense, but you are about as clueless as it gets in this biz. Sheep and fish like you tell me this is going to be a fantastic short, not just a good one.
