Large External 3.0/2.0 USB Desktop HDDs [Western Digital]

<< Currently I'm waiting on a 6TB external drive. >>

Hi Josh: Another 'My Book' and if so the new-gen or the former?

I had not checked Amazon pricing on portable and desktop USB 3.0/2.0 external HDDs since WD released the new 8th generation reimagined 'My Passport' portables and 'My Book' desktops since December when I ordered a 3TB 'My Book' ...

I was surprised to see that the price of individual drives in both the 7th gen 'My Passport' range and the older-gen 'My Book range have been jacked condiderably. The 3TB desktop I paid $89 for is now $137 (+~50% or a whopping $48) ...

The new-gen 3TB 'My Book' is a bargain, however, at $85: amazon.com

The new-gen 6TB 'My Book' is $144 delivered to Prime members at Amazon . [It is $180 at New Egg]

The 7th-gen 1TB 'My Passport Ultra' that was under $60 last year is now $73 at Amazon when I bought mine. The 71TB 200 RPM WD Touro Ss that were under $60 when I bought mine are now $72-$80 depending on color: Message 30613727 The platinum model I paid $60 for is now $80.
