Ron, Michal Daniel and his SI alter ego, Lachim Leinad have finally been added to the long Ad Astra list of SI members who have left us.

Thank you for honoring his passing every year and keeping the question in the back of my mind about why he was not in the list. After some interesting PMs with our dear moderator, Mr. Gloop, I found Michal's absence was merely an oversight.

Misha could be a rough customer, no doubt. Mercurial to the nth degree, he'd let you know it in a flash if you'd irritated him or if your opinion or post didn't pass muster with his analytical skills. He and I went at it a couple of times ourselves in PMs here and in emails outside of SI over the years.

A ravenous reader and very fast typist, he could run circles around even the most dedicated of SI trolls, leaving their entrails for all to see while others check the corpses for parasites.

He also has a heart of gold once you knew him. He lived his life with gusto and made no bones about what he thought of anything he considered censorship. Fleeing Czechoslovakia in 1968 as a boy with his family to escape the Communist invasion, he had no patience for anything that reminded him of the Red Menace of the Soviet Union, and later, Russia.

After all, Misha was just a dreamer, after all.
