NASRIN competition appears to be heating up. Any further insight?
The Gulfstream signing is troubling since I thought they were a sizeable Autotote customer?
Roberts Communications Network Inc. has signed Gulfstream Park, Calder Race Course, and Oaklawn Park to exclusive agreements to use the company's frame-relay network.
Frame-relay networks transfer data, such as wagering information and handle totals, from one wagering site to another. The technology is gradually replacing analog lines & modems - at most racetracks.
The three tracks will join Pimlico, Laurel, Suffolk Downs, Tampa Bay Downs, Emerald Downs, Finger Lakes, and Delaware Park, among others, as RCN customers. Todd Roberts, the president and chief executive officer of RCN, said the contracts with Calder, Gulfstream, and Oaklawn are all multiyear deals, but declined to reveal details. |
