Hi Wayne, I've never heard of this type of tax regulation in Canada but you never know. Check with your accountant.

Although I've had the government send me tax bills for amounts that they think my new company MIGHT make and I just sit there laughing ... then I call my accountant and she takes care of it. She says it's a bunch of bull and you shouldn't pay a tax bill just because somebody at Revenue Canada decides to do some creative accounting based on no facts at all. There are no stock options involved with the tax bills the government sends me.
