Floyd, et al. : Just what we need - Censorship on the web. Maybe parents ought to step in and handle it ? NOOOOOOOOO - that isn't how we do it in the 90's, 'junior needs his own space'.......
But i hear what i think you are saying - by promoting it as an investment, you interpret that we are promoting it as a business.
Is that correct ? I don't know. I just look at it as we are all able to make our own decisions. I am sure we all have invested in companies with rotten ethics: from Union Carbide-types that killed thousands of people in Bhopal India, where they built a plant specifically so they wouldn't have to have any safety measures build into the chemical plant, to companies cutting down rain forests, and tuna companies hunting dolphins, and car companies making unsafe vehicles. What about clothing and textile manufacturers (like NIKE) that make products in third world countries to pay kids .05/hour to work ? and all the companies that have moved to Mexico from the U.S. specifically to avoid high labor and high taxes here ? (thanks NAFTA).
Most people just by stock based on earnings potential, because it's real hard to buy a 100% 'politically correct' stock anymore.
At least with the gambling and porn stocks you mentioned, at least you know UP FRONT what you are dealing with ??
IMO of course.
