Please name just one crackpot idea I have had. And if you can, the unavoidable failure mechanism in the idea. Please do not quote jokes as being crackpot ideas. And bear in mind that some ideas are just ideas for consideration and are not intended as fully thought out detailed specifications for actual development.

So now I have homework/prep just before the Super Bowl? Why do you think I was referring to you when I mentioned crackpot ideas?

If forced, I guess I would nominate "Qi" as the prototypical crackpot idea. I have only seen cryptic references to it so far. You stated to Frank Coluccio:

<i.My prototype "Qi" is in my shed, undergoing testing. So far, so good.

Once it comes out of the shed and into the light of day, I will work on the failure mechanism.

Over decades I have grown very accustomed to nearly everyone lacking enough…

Yes, I'm sure that you have. That could be due to your sky-high IQ, and I won't discount that possibility, or your tendency to go off on to tangents and constantly shift the foundations for your arguments.

I look forward to you transferring money to me via Globalstar.

I don't understand how that will happen, but OK. Please use the money wisely.

Globalstar could be the biggest success the world has ever seen!

This is possible, but I think unlikely. The calling costs would need to be competitive with land-based systems and the power requirements for satellite communication are much higher than for a cell tower link. The antennae are also an issue for some. There is a market for sat-based communications, but not large enough to make GSAT worth investing in. I don't think a better marketing plan will make a difference.

Mq, many people find your comments of value, and sometimes I find them amusing. I don't often have time to write out longer posts. I get free weekends on occasion, and have been recently free in the evenings. This will change shortly. I wish you no ill will, but there is not much value for me to go on at length on many of your topics. You have already covered them well on other boards.

I should say for the record that I am interested in the next financial collapse in broad terms, and more narrowly, if a collapse in an European country, for example, will cause a domino effect around the world. More recently, I became interested in understanding TJ's (and others) interpretations on nationalism, racism or bravado for the sake of entertainment. There is only one ban on this board and I saw that TJ's stated reason was a racial slur -- and I agree with his determination. In other comments by TJ, I discerned some of these aspects and wanted to flesh them out as an academic exercise. I half expected to be banned during this analysis, but TJ showed more restraint than I had given him credit for. He his a very tolerant moderator.<ng>

I also have a distaste and outright scorn for the Communist Party of China, with the same breadth and depth as I held for the former Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pack nations. You probably know their respective histories as well, or better, than I do. The end of those communist states ultimately improved the lives of millions of people, but the work of nation building is far from complete. It would be best for everyone if the CCP steadily liberalized their control and allowed greater freedom of speech. If they eventually close the labor camps, I will count that as a very positive step.

Some have suggested that Xi Jinping might be China's Gorbachev. This idea led me to think of an uprising like the fall of the Berlin Wall. That could make for some searing images for the history books, possibly like those with sledge hammers breaking apart the wall. However, I would like to see a progressive awakening in China for their basic human rights, and demand change from their government. This is happening now to a degree, and I anxiously watch for larger events, and possibly another Tianamen Square level of protest. Maybe the people of Hong Kong force those changes through an en masse defiance of the communist party, or it happens piecemeal over the next 20 years. I will watch and report.<g>
