Local papers will soon begin covering more extensively the feelings of pain, the deepest sense of loss possible, that felt by America's Gold Star Mothers. This question is now just rippling all America: "Why did my son [or daugther} have to die in this war?" And as civil war and regional instability spreads throughout the Middle East in the absence of real democracy, greater then becomes the question, and one filled in hevenly hope: "Why did President Bush send my child into that hell?" Meanwhile, the effects from a different kind of pain also is now felt throughout America: "What happened to the great job I used to have--where did it go?" Yes, it was a bad omen that Bush lost the popular vote in the last presidential election, and it was further a bad omen that Bush lied, distorted, and omitted and perverted truth in order to win the last congressional election. If anything good is to come from all of this, it'll be that war and the politics of fear will never again be used in order to elect an American president!
