What if "peak oil" is a cleverly concocted lie to give the public a reason they have to accept very expensive gas prices? Don't increase production to meet new demand and create a scare world wide and then charge $4 a gallon at the pump. They get even richer bilking the public. Who can say with certainty that it can't be true? Big oil owns all the sources of information. Cook the figures. It's entirely possible.
