SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The following was issued by Thomas Kee, CRD #2369405:

Stock Traders Daily ( stocktradersdaily.com ) has recently
discussed the issues and concerns about increased inventory levels and
earnings shortfalls with Nortel Networks Corp. (NYSE: NT) and
Applied Micro Circuits (Nasdaq: AMCC).

Nortel Networks' Investor relation's representative, Angela McMagle,
re-assured Stock Traders Daily that NT plans to grow earnings and revenues
in the low 40% range in the preceding quarter. This growth rate is in line with
the guidance that was offered in the recent conference call. In addition she
said that there were no substantial bottlenecks from a component supply side.
In fact she continued to say that "our suppliers have been excellent."
Inventories also have increased slightly due in part to a seasonally strong
fourth quarter according to Angela McMagle. NT competitors include
Cisco Systems, Inc. and 3Com Corporation in addition to numerous others.

On a similar note Stock Traders Daily spoke with William Bendush, CFO of
AMCC. Mr. Bendush verified that AMCC was comfortable with the guidance
offered in the recent conference call as well that suggested a 20% sequential
growth rate. He continued to suggest that orders continue to be strong due in
part to the 10 Gigabit business and also he pointed out that backlog has
actually increased from the end of the quarter. In reference to the recent
comments by Merrill Lynch, Mr. Bendush's comments made it clear that he
thought these Merrill Lynch comments were based on news that has been
available for weeks and even months.
