I own EBAY because of the network effects; more buyers attract more sellers which in turn attract more buyers. Is that a virtuous circle? I don't know. I think of them as having a moat, as Buffett might say.

Also their value train grows by leaps and bounds as other companies (UPS, AuctionDrop iSold It) vie to help the average Joe and Jane sell whatever they own, then take their cut.
