Rick: I know it and am long a bunch. First heard about AFCX from a
friend who is one of AFCX's customers, an electrical distributor.
She bought the stock in the low teens and, more important, just bought
some more over $25. Demand for AFCX's specialty cable has been
growing fast despite the doldrums in commercial office building since
the boom of the 1980's. Commercial rents have been jumping in a number
of cities, so office tower construction should pick up again, adding
even further to demand. Even here the stock has a low multiple (I
think the guess for 1997 eps is $1.75 although I think it could come
in a good bit better) and the company has a huge pile of cash on the
balance sheet. The next few comparisons should be easy - I see the
stock well into the $30's before the year is out.
