TELEPRESENCE 3D PASSES VIDEO COMPRESSION MILESTONES

BURNABY, BRITISH COLUMBIA--
International Telepresence (Canada) Inc. announced today that its 3D imaging
had passed important video compression tests.

Chairman, President and CEO, Bruce Lawrence, said "In keeping with our market
research into the applicability of our imaging for telemedicine and distance
education, we assisted in motion JPEG and MPEG2 tests at the facility of a
broadband video conferencing company.

"We are pleased to report the tests showed we were compatible with these
important industry standards and that this now opens the way for more
substantive research into whether there is a viable market for our 3D imaging
in videoconferencing and related media channels."

The Company has its common shares available for trading through the
facilities of the Canadian Dealing Network (CDN) under the symbol "ITLP".

Formed in November, 1986, the Company has been focused on 3D imaging for
Minimally Invasive Surgery since early 1993. As an OEM provider of enabling
technology, it is seeking partners in videoconferencing, multimedia,
industrial and entertainment sectors.
