Perkin Elmer is like the guy who sells mining equipment during a gold rush. There are thouands of companies trying to strike gold in genetic engineering. Most will fail, so it becomes difficult to invest in any of these companies. PKN, however, sells the equipment all those companies need, therefore profiting no matter who is ultimately successfull. It looks like a great long term play.
