Can you give a cite for "most wars and social upheavals are caused by people starving"? At least in the US, I don't think that's the case. All our 20th cen wars were for various political reasons, our revolutions for philosophical reasons, etc. Also, am I correct in thinking your reasoning is as follows.. - War or social upheaval causes increase in demand (war) or decrease in supply (upheaval) - since P ~ d/s, either causes increase in price ? -Tony
