A plumber friend of mine called and asked if I had heard the rumor that KBH might buy Centex (CXP). No. I noticed that KBH purchased two companies this month, Lewis and General. KBH had already acquired a majority interest of General in August '98. They must have liked what they saw and decided to complete the purchase for 14+ million. Were those companies privately held? CXP has 1000+ employees and a market cap of about 750M. Building is good these days. Jerry
