RAVISENT Technologies wants you to dive into the multimedia river. The company's CineMaster decoder boards and software enable digital audio and video streaming -- that is, the broadcasting of sound and pictures -- on PCs and consumer electronics. Its boards encode and decode multimedia transmissions for such broadcast formats as DVD, direct broadcast satellite, and high-definition television. RAVISENT (formerly Divicore) also offers customization and support services. Customers include Dell (10% of sales), Hewlett-Packard, SANYO, and STMicroelectronics. Nearly 80% of sales are within North America. Entities associated with Patricof & Co. own 26% of the company; ATI Technologies also owns a minority stake.
