Gforsyth, I believe that I have the fundamental right to protect myself and my family from physical harm. I believe that this right is "self evident" whether or not it was detailed in the U.S. constitution. One thing that I learned during the L.A. riots a couple of years ago is that the police are not here "to Protect and to Serve", they are not here to stop crime, they are here to clean up the mess once the crime has been committed. Rifles are impractical for home protection and therefore handguns have a legitimate place in our society. JXM
