Tecsys' E-commerce Based Business Grows by 325% - Company Plans to Announce Several New E-com Customer Contracts in Coming Weeks
MONTREAL, Quebec, Canada, Dec. 17 /CNW-PRN/ - TECSYS Inc. (TSE: TCS - news), a leading provider of enterprise software for e-commerce driven organizations, reports that its business driven by e-commerce based order fulfillment grew from $4.4 million in the twelve month period ending October 31, 1998 to $18.7 million in the twelve month period ending October 31, 1999, representing an increase of 325%. In line with these strong e-commerce results, the company has recently signed several new e-commerce contracts and plans to announce them, pending customer approval of the announcements, in the coming weeks.
TECSYS' growing list of e-commerce customers, most of which are based in the U.S., cover a wide range of industries including, telecommunications and electronics components, machinery parts, office supplies, packaging, giftware, flowers, pet food, animal health supplies, imported goods and accessories, golf supplies, and packaged products for convenience stores.
Peter Brereton, TECSYS' President and CEO, pointed out, ''We are clearly succeeding in driving our organization to a dominant position in the e-commerce based order-fulfillment market. We provide a fully integrated order fulfillment system with both front-end and back-end capabilities. This significant competitive advantage over other business-to-business players is allowing us to capture a significant share of this lucrative market.''
Other indicators of TECSYS' success as an e-commerce provider, aside from growing market acceptance, are the positive reviews Elite.eCom has received from leading industry analysts. A September study by Benchmarking Partners, a leading North American information technology consulting firm, confirmed that TECSYS is well positioned to capitalize on the exploding market for business-to-business e-commerce.
Benchmarking Partners research analyst Jason Kerr stated, ''Throughout their history, TECSYS has clearly demonstrated that they are capable of serving the needs of the distribution market. With their new e-commerce product, Elite.eCom, TECSYS proves the point again. Elite.eCom is one of the few e-commerce systems for distributors which ties directly to the live order-entry and inventory systems. Business customers using a Distributor's Elite.eCom system will be able to review available inventory, and place orders confident that the information is accurate and the transaction has been committed properly.''
TECSYS' complete enterprise software suite has recently been made commercially available on the Linux operating system. Elite.eCom, TECSYS' business to business e-commerce solution delivers a seamless online order fulfillment solution for a company and its trading partners. TECSYS' complete suite of e-commerce-based order fulfillment includes a sophisticated business to business web order entry system as well as a complete suite of distribution and warehouse management capabilities.
The complete suite will include, in the coming months, a one stop web portal solution capable of connecting all a distributor's supply chain applications and making them available to any authorized internal and external user through any PC, palm computer or other browser-based device. Ideally suited to the Application Service Provider market, it works regardless of information source, operating system, platform or application and reduces the need for dial-up access, dedicated links or installation of software on the client.
