It seems to me that there are several important trends/timely questions looming large as to the future of 3g, such as:
1. Since DoCoMo has already become the first big success in the 3G world, how many countries/operators will it buy into and how much will their emissarial role accelerate 3G deployments?
2. When and where will the next one or two GSM systems equivalent to, or better, than DoCoMo's Japanese successful system be up and running?
3. When and where will a CDMA based competitive system be up and running? Will it be judged as successful?
4. Which will come first, a Nokia commitment to Qualcom's 3G version of CDMA or a Qualcom commitment to 3G WCDMA?
5. Will MOT be a competitive player in 3G infrastructure?

Any best guesses?
