Bullish Reasons:
The company was selected as part of the 2001 "RedHerring 100." The list, which highlights 50 of the top public and 50 of the top private businesses, was crafted by looking at "subjective and metrical criteria favored by VCs and investment bankers." More specifically, the magazine looked at 4 measures, which included "a company's potential for disrupting its market, its execution of a sound strategy, the quality of its management, and of course, its financial performance." The biotech company's "first product hits the market this year and will be distributed by industry titan Applied Biosystems in a 50/50 deal." "Proteomics is the 'it' technology, and everybody in biotech is an expert. To hear gurus like Lee Hood (who runs the Institute for Systems Biology in Seattle) tell it," the firm "has the killer app, and he's never been wrong."
