Don Hahnfeldt was interviewed on BBC News 24 in a live television interview today (12:45 EST) regarding the Company's Acoustic Core technology, as it relates to the detection of C4 plastic explosives. Following the recent incident of an airline passenger carrying explosives, the need for a system capable of safely detecting explosives carried on humans has been magnified.
Acoustic Core technology was developed over several years, and has unique features that make it safe for humans, while being able to detect for C4 plastic explosive. The technology can be added on to existing airline passenger screening portals such as metal detectors, and can significantly enhance the capability to detect and screen humans for explosives devices carried on board aircraft. The technology can also be offered as a hand held unit, which has a stand off capability of up to 100 feet.
Acoustic Core uses a patented process for analyzing the acoustic signature of a material and accurately characterizes its constituent components. AC is capable of detecting a wide variety of illicit materials in addition to C4 plastic explosive and therefore significantly enhances security in transportation, shipping, and protected facilities.
The Company is currently in the process of submitting proposals and completing demonstrations for both industry and government entities. The Company will release more details on Acoustic Core Technology as it relates to anti-terrorism and its entry into the marketplace shortly.
