Morgan Stanley telling clients that IBM may have overstated earnings by as much as 10 cents per share by conveniently not disclosing the sale of a unit and including the one-time gain on the earnings statement. Even if the analyst's estimate is off by a few pennies, it's still significant for IBM when it beat earnings by 1 cent. This issue, by the way, was first raised this morning in the NYT by Gretchen Morge
