It may turn out that certain sectors such as SOX contain too few stocks for $BPSOX to be a reliable indicator. Or it my turn out that it is a great indicator.

It may also turn out that the stocks in the index are so closely related in their movements that $BPSOX has a tendency to toggle between 0 and 100, without giving a useful period of bottoming/topping to pick buy/sell signals from.
