What do you think about Allowing the moderator to put in some kind of circuit breaker on hyperactive threads?

The logic would be something like:

If posts-per-day >= 100 then Limit each person to 3 posts/day (on that subject) except for the moderator. That would serve to decrease the quantity of messages and (hopefully) increase quality-per-message.

The variables 100 and 3 would configurable by the moderator.

If the moderator wants to have a more social thread, she would leave open. If she wants people to stay on topic and post more substantially in each message, she would create the restrictions.

I'm not suggesting this is implemented globally across all subjects, but just offering it as another tool to Moderators, who right now only have the ability to Ban people.
