Welcome! Before symphonic metal fully took shape, Theatre of Tragedy was already experimenting with orchestral elements, gothic atmosphere, and the signature “beauty and the beast” vocal dynamic. Lorelei is a standout track from this era, with Liv Kristine’s haunting melodies contrasting against Raymond Rohonyi’s deep voice, layered over melancholic yet powerful instrumentation. While later bands refined and expanded the genre, Theatre of Tragedy helped lay the foundation. This earlier track is one of my favorites! I love the guitar riff.
