TPS To Install Summa Four's Open, Programmable
Switch;

Key Component of Leading Edge Personal
Assistant™ Solution

Manchester, NH -- February 12, 1996 -- Summa Four,
Nasdaq "SUMA", a leader in open, programmable
switching, today announced that it is teaming with
Telecommunications Premium Services (TPS), a leading
developer of computer-based enhanced telephony systems,
to deliver advanced voice and data services on a
worldwide basis.

TPS is using Summa Four switches to offer TPS Personal
Assistant™, a personal number, follow-me service
that greets callers with a friendly human voice, and screens
and manages communications based on the users
instructions. TPS Personal Assistant offers: a single number
for voice, fax and data; worldwide "find-me"; individual call
screening; full-featured voicemail; inbound and outbound
store, forward and broadcast fax; immediate notification
through pager, e-mail and short messaging service;
PIN-controlled access to a variety of secured services
including a "cardless" phone card, and user defined
scheduling of availability and location.

Summa Four's scalable, standards-based VCO open,
programmable switches have advanced application
programming interfaces and extensive internal control
subsystems that simplify application development and
speed time-to-market. The VCO's open architecture
enables virtually any computer-based application to
communicate with virtually any public network architecture.
VCO switches form the foundation of a wide range of
enhanced services including intelligent 800, voice activated
dialing, debit and credit card, follow me, and voice and fax
messaging. Summa Four's VCO switch will be used to
provision the TPS Personal Assistant service to be
launched by Cellnet, a BT subsidiary, in the United
Kingdom this spring. TPS will adapt the software platform
to suit the requirements of telecom systems worldwide.

"TPS's core business strategy is the continual expansion of
TPS services on a global level," said Ian McKenzie,
executive chairman of TPS. "The extensive connectivity of
Summa Four's switches enable us to quickly and easily
integrate our host-based platforms seamlessly across a
diverse range of network operating standards while
promoting the rapid development of new applications."

"We are pleased to work with TPS to support one of the
most advanced personal number service platforms in the
world," said Edward C. Callahan, Jr., president and chief
operating officer, Summa Four. "Teaming with TPS is an
important step in delivering leading-edge solutions to
telecom service providers worldwide."

TPS will install Summa Four's VCO switches with its
host-based platforms. The VCO Series can be deployed
as a fully network-compliant switching foundation for an
enhanced service platform, as a mobile switching center or
base station controller for wireless networks, or to provide
scalable transport switching for public networks
worldwide.
