Re: Charts

I have no pretense of expertise in technical analysis, but in 1996 I learned a lot of respect for it. Charts are statements of fact. As such, they incorporate the historical record of the psychology of buyers and sellers. I buy stock in companies because I understand their business model and fundamentals, but I try to use charts as a guide to entry and exit points. As long as you understand that all TA is postdictive and that many do believe and act on it, I think it can be a useful adjunct to one's investing toolkit. I personally use Supercharts, but there seem to be several well-regarded programs available for the PC. If you've not used one or seen what they do, I highly recommend you take one for a test drive. You may be surprised.

As far as SUNW goes, I would welcome the insights of someone more adept at TA than I. Also, I would welcome discussion of SUNW's fundamentals and how they are positioned to meet the pricing competition that workstation-class PCs now pose.
