Competition Coming
Bayer to Introduce Herbal Supplements
MORRIS TOWNSHIP, N.J. -- For the first time, a major OTC drug maker is introducing a line of herbal supplements to the U.S. market. The Bayer Corporation Consumer Care Division, based here, announced last week that it will ship the company's new One-A-Day supplements to retailers nationwide in the coming weeks.
"We are taking the best herbal ingredients and combining them with optimal vitamins and minerals to address specific consumer health needs," said Jay Kolpon, the division's vice president. "Consumers will no longer have to sort through a mind-boggling array of vitamins and herbs to try and figure out which ingredients to use to maintain health."
The company released a list of the products that will be offered in the One-A-Day line. Supplements will include herbal ingredients that offer support for cold season ailments, energy, tension and mood, memory and concentration, bone strength, cholesterol levels, menopause and prostate function. |
