Competitive Positioning
Several Key Competitive Advantages Competitors within the broadband wireless access market differentiate themselves on several bases of competition. These include the cost of the CPE, ability to provide Reliable service, data rates, network capacity, and quality of service (QoS). WirelessHome’s product position is a well-balanced mix of these differentials that are key to last mile service providers:
Least Cost of CPE
For the segments of small business, MDU, SOHO and residential broadband access market, perhaps the most important differentiator is cost of CPE. Business and Consumers are well aware that cable and DSL modems are cost effective solutions and it therefore becomes imperative for operators offering a broadband wireless solution to have cost effective CPE. Our CPE uses highly integrated ASICs and Si-Ge MMIC to ensure ease of manufacturability and reduce minimizes CPE cost. Further, a single mast mounted package contains all electronics, i.e. printed antenna, RF transceiver, modem and Ethernet interface. WirelessHome is achieving a CPE price of less than $600 versus $1,200 for competing products.
Highest Reliability/Availability for a Wireless Solution in UNII …
The threat of interference is very high in the UNII band: Self-interference, point-to-point systems, competing point-to-multipoint, and government radars. Through the use of two of patent pending communication techniques on interference we have the ability to perform interference cancellation and provide a spectrum shield that ensures robust system operations unsurpassed in the industry today. Further, our solution allows for variable spreading gain and error coding, directional antennas to reduce interference in view, frequency agility and spatial and polarization nulling.
Highest Peak Data Rates …
Fixed wireless networks typically employ some means of sharing bandwidth among users from a given base station. The maximum amount of bandwidth that is available to be shared is referred to as peak data rate. WirelessHome’s network delivers peak data rates from 20 megabits per second up to 60 megabits per second PER SECTOR, depending on the modulation scheme selected, well beyond the 3 megabits per second to 25 megabits per second offered by other unlicensed band infrastructure.
Network Capacity
Because of the high peak data rates offered by the infrastructure, WirelessHome’s network can deliver unparalleled capacities. For example, if an operator wanted to offer a 768 kilo bits per second (Kbps) grade of service to its customers, the WirelessHome network would be able to support 2,300 residential customers per cell site or >300 small businesses (average 20 employees) using the modulation scheme of 30 Mbps per sector.
Installation and Provisioning Ease
Operators must minimize the cost of installation of the CPE and the provisioning of Service. To impact this we have built into the unit several unique attributes some of which are –- Auto –Configuration, Global Access, Light weight, weather proof, RSSI indicator to aid in pointing, over the air software loads, and redundant configuration option, etc.
Quality of Service
Our products, when implemented with the requested other third party products, creates a QOS managed network that enables delivery of assured service that will meet and exceed customer expectation. By implementing a DiffServ architecture enables packet classification by QOS levels. Our WirelessHome Network Manage allows for remote system policy management, configuration, and diagnosis. |
