Jun 11 2001: "Back in Redmond, the top brass may be coming to the same conclusion. In late April, Microsoft group VP Bob Muglia sent an e-mail to his key guys in the mobile services division calling for action. "We need brand-name handset OEMs for our devices, particularly Stinger," Muglia wrote. "We quickly need to close two of the top four mobile handset providers. How can we turn around our OEM situation?" (Muglia declined to comment.)
